Buzz and Mixx It!
Tidwell calls Crews into his office, closes his door and blinds, and asks Crews to stomp on his foot because it is asleep. Crews obliges, but Tidwell tells him to try harder. Stark opens the door and tells them that a dead guy was found at the beach. Stark and Crews then head out to investigate the body. Stark tells Crews the man was a runner who just dropped dead. Crews sees a knife wound in the man's chest. They see he has no pockets or ID. Crews wonders where he kept his house key. He then finds a hotel key and they find out his name was Travis Slocum and he was from out of town. They investigate his room and see several army bags. They figure the man was on leave. Stark notices one of the four pairs of boots are small. Crews suggest they don't belong to a man. A woman wearing sunglasses then approaches the detectives. Crews sees two men in the reflection of her glasses and tells her to tell them to stand down. Stark turns around and points a gun at them just as they are about to strike.
Crews tells Tidwell that Travis was serving along with Erin, the woman, and the two other men. Stark says the three say they were hanging out together while Travis went for his run. Tidwell tells Crews that Reese told him to ask what he sees. Tidwell asks and Crews says it's more about what he doesn't see. He asks the three why they are not wearing dog tags. Erin says they just wanted to be civilians for their two weeks of leave. Crews takes Travis's bags and one of the men stands up to object. Erin tells him to relax.
Crews goes through Travis's bag. He finds dirty clothes and a shot glass. He suggests they look into where it came from to see if he got into any fights while he was drinking. He then finds a medal. Crews talks to Reese about the case over the phone. Crews asks Reese about Tidwell and she hangs up. Stark then walks in and the two question people around the murder scene. Crews reenacts Travis jogging. Stark says it is unlikely that a soldier would get stabbed in the chest. They then go back to headquarters and watch surveillance video. Stark notices that several vendors make movements at the same time that Travis is stabbed.
Crews and Stark go to the street vendors. They say a white guy with sunglasses and a hoodie told them it was performance art. They give the detectives an object that the man touched so they can dust it for prints. Crews and Stark then stake out the hotel and see Erin leave. They wonder where she could be going dressed in a business suit. They follow her to a private jet. Crews suggest they follow her on the plane, but Stark says they don't have a warrant. Crews gets out of the car and goes on ahead.
Meanwhile, Reese is questioned about Rayborn. She says she knows him from the stories in the papers and on the news. Agent Liz Ray assures Reese that her answers will not be used against her. She says the FBI just needs to know her secrets so no one else can use them against her. Reese says he was a friend of her dad's. Agent Ray then shows Reese a picture of Roman Nevikov and asks if she knows him.
Crews mingles with the people aboard the airplane. A flight attendant offers him a drink and Crews sees the glass is the same as the one in Travis's bag. Erin sees him and pulls him aside. She tells Crews that she works there as security with Simms and Travis used to work there too. Crews asks if she told her employers about what happened to Travis. She says not yet. Crews asks why he had to turn in his cell phone and she explains that they all have cameras. Crews returns to the party and realizes that the plane is being used as a place for people to enact their fantasies. The owner sees Crews and asks who he came on board with. Crews says he's just there investigating a murder. The man begins to drink as Crews tells him about Travis's murder. The man says he tries to help soldiers earn extra money while they are on leave. Crews asks the man if Travis saw something on board that got him killed. The man tells Crews to talk to the owner of Protect and Defend Yourself.
