A group of environmental protesters are chained to coal mining equipment, causing the employees to become angry. One of the woman chained to the equipment passes out and the officer finds that she has no pulse. The woman wakes up and the officer tells the group that the protest is over. The man next to the woman falls down when he tries to stand up. The man lies on the ground and claims that he can't get up.

Cameron calls Chase to meet her in the hall. She tells him that she owes House a favor and she might not be able to go away with him on vacation. Cameron then goes to House and his team and tells them about the man from the protest. Thirteen thinks the guy sounds like a nutcase, but House orders a series of tests to be administered by Cameron.

Cameron meets with the patient, Doug, and he complains about the cut flowers in his room. Cameron injects cold water into Doug and he throws up on her.

House and Wilson get breakfast and House notices that Wilson has ordered a healthy, bacon-free breakfast. Wilson notices that House is wearing the watch Kutner gave him, but House insists he doesn't care that Kutner is gone.

Taub, Thirteen, and Foreman talk about House's motives for having Cameron work the case. Cameron walks in and says that Doug isn't faking his illness. House orders Cameron to check the patient's heartbeat for irregularities. Cameron meets with Chase and tells him that she is still working on the case. She says that she can't tell him the real reason she is sticking with the case. Chase is skeptical, but tells her he understands.

Cameron tells House that Doug has no heart irregularities, but he has been hiccuping for over a week. House asks Cameron why she is postponing her trip with Chase and suggests she has the hots for him. House continues to try to figure out her motives, but she remains focused on the case. They meet with the team and Cameron suggest a reaction to one of Doug's protest environments. Taub says that the patient's Scandinavian background could give him a higher chance of having MS. Foreman and Cameron go to Doug and administer a test. Foreman asks Cameron why she is there. He asks if she is trying to take over Kutner's position. Cameron ignores Foreman's question and orders an IV for the test.

Chase meets with Cuddy and asks if she knows if Cameron is trying to get back on House's team. Cuddy tells him that she doesn't think so. He then asks if Cameron is in love with House. Cuddy tells Chase that Cameron is in love with him. Chase then asks if Cuddy is in love with House and Cuddy refuses to answer.

Doug's wife walks into House's office. House tells her that Doug said he was single. She tells him that Doug often lies to protect her from his arrests. She asks if Doug is alright and House says he has no idea. House goes to Doug and stops Cameron and Foreman from administering the test. House asks if Cameron is there as a spy for Wilson, but Cameron says no. Doug's wife walks in and House tells the doctors that Doug also has a kid. Foreman then notices that there are several swollen areas on Doug's neck.

The team meets and discuss Doug's case. They know he doesn't have MS and try to figure out if Doug was exposed to something while he was protesting a lumber mill. House orders the doctors to run some tests, but tells Cameron not to help. Cameron asks why and House says he wants to see where she goes when she isn't working with the team.

Cuddy sees Cameron working on other cases and asks why she isn't on vacation. Cuddy then asks if Cameron is in love with House. Cameron realizes that Cuddy is trying to protect her territory. Cuddy tells Cameron that neither one of them should be in love with House. She tells Cameron that she has a good thing with Chase and she shouldn't mess things up.

Thirteen and Foreman meet with Doug. They watch as Doug tells his wife that he does what he does for their son. Meanwhile, House goes to Wilson's house and makes a beeline for his kitchen. House realizes that Wilson is allowing him to enter his kitchen and thinks that he won't find anything. House points out that Wilson isn't getting fat and suggests that Kutner's sudden death has shaken him up. Wilson goes to his fridge and pulls out high fat items. House then gets a call and learns that Doug has excruciating pain in his leg. Doug screams loudly in the background and the team tries to figure out what is causing the pain. House tells them to put Doug on antibiotics and x-ray his leg. House then tries to get Wilson to eat some chips, but Wilson passes.
