Buzz and Mixx It!
Tim, an author, talks with his publicist about his upcoming book tour during a dinner ceremony. Tim raises his glass to make a toast, then his co-author Nick jumps in and kills the mood. Nick goes on to tell Tim his life's work is meaningless. Nick's nose starts to bleed, but he continues mocking Tim. He then passes out and the guests call for help.
House arrives at work and sees the team looking at Nick's case. The team says the man had an extreme change in personality and they think it has to do with his frontal lobe. Meanwhile, Nick plays with his daughter Marika. Kutner and Taub walk in and administer a brain test. Nick tells his wife that she shouldn't bother working on her cancer charity walk. He then tells Taub his nose is really large.
Wilson tells House that he doesn't want to go to a monster truck rally with him. Wilson says he doesn't like them, but House doesn't believe him. House says Wilson has a persona that makes him say things just to be nice. Kutner walks up and says Nick has no nasal cancer. Kutner adds that Nick says everything that comes to his head and he is upsetting his wife. Kutner offers a Harry Potter metaphor, but it falls flat.
Foreman and Thirteen meet with Nick who talks to Thirteen the same way House does. Cuddy walks in and Nick is smitten. Nick continues talking about how he would like to do Cuddy and Thirteen, but especially Cuddy. Cuddy then sees House watching the interaction from a dark room. House follows Cuddy out of the room and tells her that she should be flattered that Nick preferred her to a younger woman.
Foreman and Thirteen run tests on Nick while they talk about Nick's comments. The doctors start to ask Nick questions about his political beliefs while they watch the brain responses on the monitor. They decide a course of steroids should correct the abnormality in Nick's brain.
In the cafeteria, Taub asks Kutner if he thinks his nose is too big. Kutner says it fits his face. House sits down with Wilson, who is still upset about House's comment about his overly nice persona. House asks Wilson why he lied about the monster trucks. Wilson then admits that he has plans to play racquetball with Taub. Wilson tells House that he lied to avoid hurting his feelings.
Foreman sees Nick responding poorly to the steroids. He thinks Nick's kidneys are failing and says he needs to be on dialysis. The team tries to figure out what is wrong with Nick. House asks Taub how long he has been playing racquetball with Wilson. House says Taub couldn't keep up athletically with Wilson because he is Jewish. House then quizzes Taub on the rules of racquetball. House says they should test Marika for brain abnormalities and Taub should test Nick for diabetes. Taub asks House why he is punishing him and House says because he is joining Wilson in lying to him.
Nick's wife tells Kutner that it has been really hard to be around Nick. Marika then screams and Kutner sees she is getting burned from the test. He asks why she didn't say anything and she says she just wanted to help her daddy.
Taub talks with Nick and he realizes that Taub cheated on his wife. Nick says everyone must think he is a creep. Taub gets angry and walks out of the room. House then pages Taub to meet him in the morgue. Taub tells him he finished with the tests. House throws a racquetball to Taub and hands him a racket. Taub proves to House that he can play while they talk about Nick's condition. Taub crashes into equipment and admits that he was lying about playing racquetball with Wilson. House says he knows because he gave Taub a squash racket.
Nick asks Kutner why his daughter has a bandage on her arm. Kutner says they wanted to make sure she was healthy. Nick then starts talking about how her daughter is actually just not very bright. Nick's wife gets upset. Nick compensates by telling her that her mom isn't bright either, but she does okay. Marika runs out of the room and Nick's temperature starts spiking.
The doctors realize that since Nick has a fever, he must have an infection. House tells them to get a detailed history of Nick's travels. Nick tells his wife to leave the room while Kutner asks him questions. Nick explains that he doesn't want to upset her. He tells her to tell their daughter that he loves her very much. Kutner tells House that Nick's wife rescues dogs and recently brought home a Rottweiler. House thinks Nick has a bacterial infection from the dog.
