Jackson, dressed only in his robe, walks outside to pick up the morning paper as Mike pulls up to Susan's house. Susan hears the two talking and rushes out. Mike tells her he's just returning MJ's video game. He then tells Susan he'll be by later to pick up Jackson so he can hang out with him and make sure he's suitable to have around their son. Susan tries to object, but Mike tells her if he doesn't go out with Jackson later, he'll take her back to court to renegotiate custody of MJ. After Mike leaves, Jackson goes back out to get the paper he forgot earlier and, still in his bathrobe, he meets MJ for the first time.
Susan dresses and prepares Jackson for his date with Mike. After Jackson returns, the two get romantic in bed and he nibbles on her ear. Susan freaks out, and asks him how he knew that she enjoyed having her ears kissed. He stammers a bit and finally admits that Mike told him. She tells Jackson her ears are off limits to him and forbids him to see Mike again.
Later, Jackson calls Susan and cancels their date saying an old college friend has stopped by unexpectedly. Susan assumes she's being dumped for Mike and finds Mike sitting at a bar. She sits next to him and asks where Jackson is. He tells her Jackson's not there, but she sees a vacant beer. She starts dumping chips and nuts in the beer and a strange guy appears asking what she's doing to his beer. Mike then tells Susan that Jackson canceled his date too. Mike tells Susan he wishes he could have MJ see that they're all friends. Susan tells him that she doesn't want Jackson to see her through his eyes. Mike says she looks great through his eyes.
Susan returns home to find Jackson in her house. As she tells him she's changed her mind about barring him from seeing Mike, Karl Meyer, her other former husband, walks out of the bathroom saying he stopped by for some legal purpose.
Lynette tries to talk to Porter about his old friend who had just been arrested for selling drugs. Porter, in as few words as possible, tells her it's no big deal and that they're not friends anymore. Lynette, not convinced, goes to ask Parker if Porter is still friends with the kid who was arrested. Parker confirms Porter's assertion and tells her she can check out his social networking site to find out for sure. Lynette asks Parker how she can get Porter to accept her as his friend.
Tom walks in on Lynette while she is pretending to be a 16 year old girl talking to Porter. After she tells him what she's learned about their son, he tells her she has to stop. She tells him she will, but she just found out Porter like poetry. Tom leaves the room and Lynette reopens her computer.
Lynette sees Porter with a poetry book and tries to talk to him about it. He grunts a little then leaves. Lynette later realizes that Porter has a crush on the 16 year old she's pretending to be. Tom discovers that Lynette has kept up her internet charade and tells her to end it. Lynette writes Porter a 'Dear John' email which Tom says is great, except that she signed it 'mom'. Having already sent the email, Lynette waits for Porter. She tells him that she missed how they used to talk and loved the conversations they had online. He utters under his breath that he missed it too.
Gabby, excited to find an invitation to the Michelle Downing party in her mailbox, walks in her living room to see Carlos giving a man a massage. She pulls Carlos aside and begs him to stop working in the house and take the job at the country club so they can have the lifestyle they used to. Despite liking working at home, Carlos agrees to take the higher paying job.
Bree, who is catering the Downing party, goes to Gabrielle's house to uninvite her to the party. She explains that now that Carlos works at the country club, he can't be seen mingling with the guests at the party since most of them are members and know him as the help.
Bree is booked for a radio interview to promote her new book. Orson, after becoming upset about Bree's use of Van de Kamp over Hodge as her professional name, stays home to eat take out alone. During the interview, Bree is asked if there's a Mr. Van de Kamp. While Orson is listening, she says Mr. Van de Kamp is dead. When Bree returns home, Orson is angry about not being mentioned and reminds her that he went to jail for her. Bree tells him it's no big deal and promises him a pot roast when she gets back from catering the Downing party.
Carlos and Gabby get all dressed up to go to the party they were uninvited from. Gabby leads Carlos in through the service door at the country club and sees Bree in the kitchen. Bree tells her not to get caught. Gabby mingles at the dinner and Bree pulls her aside. Gabby explains that she found out there was a no show and she's taking their seats. While in the kitchen with Bree, Gabby opens the door to see Carlos approached by the maitre de. Then the door swings open to reveal Carlos being escorted out of the party.
Carlos and Gabby sit in their car and Gabby tells Carlos that she wishes they had everything they lost so she could be happy. Carlos tells her that while massaging the rich people, they tell him all their problems. He convinces Gabby that the rich aren't happy and that they have everything that's important.
Bree gets home from the party after midnight to find Orson sitting alone at the table. She tells him she's exhausted and he tells her he's hungry. She tells him that she'll make the pot roast tomorrow, but he insists that she promised. Bree finally goes to the kitchen and, while crying, prepares the meal for Orson.
Dave, who has made friends with the neighbors by doing things like screwing in a lightbulb for Katherine, walks in the house to find Edie packing her bags. Edie says she wants to leave because everyone is still so mean to her. She said that when Karen McCluskey made fun of her breasts that it was the last straw. Dave calms her down and convinces her to stay. He says he'll personally see to it that everyone shows her more respect.
Dave goes to Karen McCluskey's house and asks her to apologize to Edie. She tells him that she won't apologize and that her and Edie's relationship is based on insults. Dave notices all the pictures of people she has hanging on her walls and notes that he knows she used to be surrounded by people and no longer is and now only has her cat, Toby. He advises her to keep the few friends she has and apologize to Edie.
The next day, Dave finds Mrs. McCluskey looking for her missing cat. He tells her he'll help her look for Toby if she apologizes to Edie. After two days, Mrs. McCluskey goes to Edie and apologizes for her comment and asks Edie to tell Dave she came by. Edie accepts the apology and Mrs. McCluskey returns home to find her cat in her living room and the window open.
Mrs. McCluskey grabs a bouquet of flowers and takes them to Katherine. She tells Katherine that she needs to use her computer to research Edie's new husband.
BeeThoughts
Poor Porter, the internet will probably never be the same for him. Although the storyline was nothing new as dramas go, signing the letter 'love, mom' was a nice touch. I wonder how big a role Karl is going to play in future episodes. I kind of thought he was gone for good. It looks like both Bree and Orson are about to snap, I wonder who will go first. As for Carlos and Gabby, Carlos is very sweet, but what happened to their kids? They were barely even mentioned in the episode. I'm not totally convinced the time progression is working for this show. It seems awkward. It makes sense to age progress high school kids, but the adult age progression isn't quite right.
