Castle and Beckett go to Donny's principal. He says when his parents lost their jobs, they gave Donny a scholarship since he was such a good student. They then talk to Donny's friends and ask why Donny would be in the park. Beckett tells the kids that she went to the same school and she understands their code. She says they need to trust her so they can find out what happened. The kids say Donny fell apart and got into drugs. They say he started dealing to afford to buy them.

Beckett gets a call and she pinches Castle's ear when he tries to listen in. Beckett tells Castle that she lied to the kids about her schooling to get them to talk. They then meet with Ryan and he shows them a park bench with a large pool of blood around it. He says it looks like Donny was sitting there, then was shot and dragged off. Castle notices that there isn't a blood trail and thinks someone dragged the body to another location to try to throw them off.

Beckett meets with Esposito who is questioning an eyewitness. The witness finds a picture of a guy and says he was the one she saw in the park. Beckett brings the man, Kent Scoville, in and asks him why he was in the park. She shows him a picture of Donny's dead body and Kent says he doesn't know him. Beckett reminds him that he is about to receive his third strike. Kent admits that he saw Donny last night and sold him drugs. He says he sold to him a bunch of times as well as his little buddies. Kent describes Donny's friends and he says they were all in the park with Donny.

Beckett meets with Donny's friends and asks why they lied to her. Beckett tells them that they can go to prison for witholding evidence. Amanda speaks up and says they were just there to try to stop Donny. Castle says he doesn't believe her. They then admit that they used to go to the park for drugs. They say a guy came up to Donny with a gun and demanded his money. They say they ran after Donny was shot and they didn't call the police because they didn't want to get in trouble. Beckett asks if they saw the guy and they say it was dark. Beckett brings the kids to the station and has them look at a line up. Romy sees Kent and says she recognizes him as the shooter.

Castle sits in Alexis's room and waits for her to wake up. He tells her that he used to watch her sleep when she was a baby. He then asks if she does drugs. Alexis says no and points out that she has no symptoms of drug use. He then asks her about the kids that she wants to go away with. She says they are good kids and he knows them. She tells him not to worry. He tells her that she can tell him anything. She says if anything ever happened to her, her friends would bail her out.
