Hollywood Forever

Adriana's drug use gets Naomi in trouble and the actress is given a choice between her friendship and her family. Will she do the right thing? Read the recap and review of CW's 90210.

There's a new girl joining Matthews class and she has an attitude. Kim Macintyre enters West Beverly after being kicked out of her last school in Las Vegas. Annie tries to welcome her, but Kim sasses her from the start.

Later in health class, Annie and Ethan are paired up in a parenting assignment. They are given a baby simulator doll that cries and must be cared for and fed.

Throughout the school, Silver is promoting Hollywood Forever, a horror movie festival at the cemetery celebrating her half birthday. Dixon tells Silver he isn't interested in horror movies, but will attend her event anyway.

Naomi is having a tough time dealing with her recent breakup with Ethan and her parent's ongoing divorce. She needs a friend and asks Adriana to hang out after school.

Tracy Clark asks Principal Wilson if he is interested in finding out more about their son who was sent out for adoption. Tracy tells Harry that she is considering hiring a private investigator and wants his blessing. Harry later tells his wife, Deborah, about Tracy's plan. He tells Deborah that he does not want to hire a PI and that he will settle with writing a letter to the adoption agency. He says that if Tracy's son wants to contact him, the information will be there.

After school, Annie and Adriana audition for a movie part. Adriana has trouble getting into character as she is practicing in the bathroom. She snorts some coke to build her confidence and goes out to perform for the producer.

Silver takes Dixon to her house to show him the decor changes she will be making while Kelly is out. The two believe that they are going to make the most of having the house without supervision. Silver asks Dixon to take off his shoes, relax and sit down on the couch as they do what she loves. Silver turns and reveals three horror movies that she wants to watch with him that night.

Naomi goes to Adriana's house to pick her up to go shopping. Her mom is there, but Adriana is not. Her mom breaks the good news that Adriana got the part that she auditioned for. She says that Adriana is probably celebrating and forgot about meeting Naomi.

Meanwhile, Adriana is indeed celebrating. She is in a parked car with a couple of men snorting cocaine.

Later that night, Dixon has slept through the mini-horror movie marathon at Silver's and misses his curfew. He wakes up and tries to sneak in back home, but he wakes up everyone. His parents tell him that they are going to attend Hollywood Forever to make sure that he gets home in time.

The next day, Dixon tells Silver about getting in trouble and that his parents are going to be at the movie festival. Silver sees Ryan and asks him if he wants to go and bring a date to the event. He says yes. Ethan and Annie show up holding their baby simulator and Silver invites them too. Annie, not wanting to get into a rebound relationship with Ethan, says that they will show up as 'parents.'

Annie goes to the class being taught by Ryan. During the period, the new girl, Kim, asks Annie if she knows how to party. Ryan takes notice of the interruption and asks her to keep quiet. Kim responds sarcastically to Ryan and then he responds by giving her detention.

Later, Harry meets with Tracy to tell her his plans of writing a letter to the adoption agency. Tracy tells him that she already hired a private investigator. She says that she has been dealing with not seeing her son for years and wants to see how he is doing. Harry comforts Tracy by giving her a hug. Tracy tries to kiss him, but Harry pushes her away and tells her to pretend that the kiss never happened.

After school, Kim goes to detention. Immediately she tries to ask Ryan personal questions like if he has a girlfriend, in which he says it's none of her business, then she asks if he is gay, to which he says no.

The next day, Naomi walks up to Adriana at her locker. Adriana is super hyper while she tells her that she got the movie role. In Adriana's purse, Naomi sees a lipstick container that she used to own to hold cocaine. She tries to confront her about her drug use but Adriana walks away. Naomi chases after her and tells Adriana that she is her friend and wants to help.

All of the sudden, drug sniffing dogs and cops enter the school looking for contraband. Adriana freaks out and Naomi offers to help by taking the drugs then running off. Annie sees this exchange and Naomi flees into the bathroom. A female officer spots Naomi as well, follows, and finds her dumping cocaine into the toilet.

Naomi is handcuffed and put into a squad car to be taken to the police station. Ryan sees this and tells Harry that the bust was not cool. Harry says that he is not interested in being cool and does not want drugs in his school.

Ethan and Annie confront Adriana about Naomi taking the fall for her. Adriana tells the two that Naomi got her started using drugs. They ask Adriana to be a friend and help Naomi out.

At Naomi's house, her mother is trashing her room in search for drugs. Her dad is there and tells her that he may not be able to help her this time. He warns her that, if she is convicted, her life will become difficult.

Naomi is visited by Adriana and she tells Adriana that she is in a lot of trouble. Naomi asks her to fess up, but Adriana is afraid of losing her movie role. Naomi tells her that she should enter rehab and that it might be a good career move. Adriana agrees and promises to meet with Naomi's attorney later.

Adriana goes home and finds her mom presenting her with a cake. Her mom tells Adriana that they were about to lose the house, but the upcoming money from the movie will save them. Adriana becomes distressed over her dilemma between her friend and family.

At the cemetery, the Hollywood Forever event begins and a flood of people arrive. Ryan shows up with Jocelyn, a blonde woman he just met online. Jocelyn tells Ryan that she is an actress, to which he sarcastically says that it is rare to find an actress in Los Angeles. She does not get the joke.

She tells Ryan that she played a corpse in CSI and was in a national commercial for a herpes medication.

Annie, who arrived with Ethan, is left alone with Silver and she tells her that going to this event with Ethan feels kind of like a date. She tells Silver not to make out with Dixon in front of them and make them feel uncomfortable.

Harry and Deborah lay out their blankets for the movie and he tells her that Tracy kissed him. Deborah gets upset and tells him that she wants her out of their lives and that she misses her friends in Kansas.

Night falls and the movies are projected on the wall of a mausoleum. Ryan and Jocelyn bump into Kim and he introduces his date to his student. Jocelyn tells Kim that she is an actress and Kim tells the same joke that Ryan told earlier. Jocelyn still does not get it.

Kim leaves after telling Jocelyn that she loved her in that herpes commercial. During the movie, Ryan leaves Jocelyn and meets with Kim. He tells her that if she is starting to have feelings for him, to knock it off. Kim tells Ryan that she does not have a crush on him and to get over himself.

Kim walks off and Harry approaches her. He tells her that her department made a scene at the school. We find out that Kim is an undercover police officer posing as a student looking for drugs. Kim tells Harry to never make contact with her again.

Ethan and Annie talk about how they both have the understanding that they are not on a date. Ethan says that if they were on a date he would try 'this,' as he moves to kiss her. The entire crowd gasps at a scary scene in the movie and he stops. Dixon shows up with Silver and he tells them that he is getting into the whole horror movie thing.

Elsewhere, Naomi, her father, and their attorney are waiting for Adriana to arrive. The attorney tells Naomi that if she is convicted, she will have a harder time getting a job and getting into college. Naomi waits for a long time and grows angry. She calls up Adriana and leaves her a voicemail telling her that their friendship is over and that she is dead to her.

At the other side of town, Adriana's cell phone is on, rings and receives Naomi's voicemail. It lies on the ground, next to Adriana with her eyes open, not breathing and surrounded by paramedics. She has overdosed and the emergency staff try to save her by injecting adrenaline into her heart.

I think Adriana will live but she will have a hard time regaining her friendship with Naomi. Adriana placed herself in a terrible predicament and should take responsibility for her actions, even at the cost of her home. I think that her mom should be the one responsible for taking care of the budget. I think she failed as a mother putting too much pressure on her daughter to make ends meat. This whole deal with the Kim, the undercover agent is weird. I know that the actors are older than the characters they play and it reminds me of 21 Jump Street and the episode of Family Guy where Peter poses as the high school student. It is kind of goofy and unbelievable, but I'll play along and see where it goes.
